Kris Letang gives Yegor Chinakhov a special gift after his first goal with the Penguins
After he scored his first goal in a Penguins sweater, Yegor Chinakhov got a special gift in the locker room from longtime Pittsburgh defenseman Kris Letang after their 4-1 win in Detroit.
It's four straight wins now for the Pittsburgh Penguins, who beat the Red Wings 4-1 today in Detroit.
Newly acquired forward Yegor Chinakhov, who was acquired in a trade from the divisional foe Columbus Blue Jackets earlier in the week, scored his first goal in a Penguins sweater.
In the locker room after the game, he got a special gift from new teammate Kris Letang, their ceremonial postgame celebration steel worker helmet which is a nod to Pittsburgh's history of steel production.

Chinakhov will not have to wait long to play against his former Blue Jackets teammates, as the Penguins will play in Columbus tomorrow afternoon. It will be his first game back against the team that took him with the 21st overall pick in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft.
Yegor Chinakhov Scored His First Goal In A Penguins Sweater
Chinakhov, who now has seven points (4G, 3A) this year split between the Blue Jackets and Penguins, scored his first goal in a Penguins sweater.
He then said that getting his milestone goal for Pittsburgh feels good, but that it will be an emotional return for him tomorrow against Columbus.

Chinakhov is in the last year of his contract with an AAV (average annual value) of $2.1 million and can become an RFA in the summer.
