The NHL fans expected many offer sheets this summer, and now Kyle Dubas has revealed three teams are ready to pounce through deals with the Penguins.
The Pittsburgh Penguins came into the NHL off-season expecting to be one of the biggest sellers in the league, but thus far they've made very few moves despite all of the speculation around their veterans.
One thing around the league that we also expected was offer sheets after the Blues gave the Oilers not one, but two a season ago, but so far we are yet to see that, although Pittsburgh Penguins GM Kyle Dubas has hinted that some action may be on the way.
Kyle Dubas hints at teams using the Penguins to make offer sheets
During his appearance on the
Cam and Strick Podcast, Dubas talked about the possibility of offer sheets this summer, noting that teams have called the Penguins about potentially re-acquiring their 2026 draft picks.
Currently, the picks that Pittsburgh own of other teams include the Blues and Jets second-round picks and the Sharks third-round pick, with Dubas hinting that a move would be made in order to give them the assets to make an offer sheet elsewhere.
Currently, the three biggest names available for a potential offer sheet are
Connor Zary,
Mason McTavish and
Marco Rossi, and given the need down the middle for these teams, these three players make perfect sense as acquisition targets.
Whether or not Pittsburgh will deal with these teams is yet to be seen, but given how quiet the off-season has been thus far, if we start to see a little movement, many more moves could follow as teams look to make deals before training camp begins.
