Most NHL free agent players have been picked up by new teams, but the Pittsburgh Penguins would be wise to look into extending an offer to UFA forward Victor Olofsson, who most recently played with the Vegas Golden Knights.
Olofsson, who is coming off a 1 year contract, had 29 points (15G, 14A) in 56 games with Vegas this year, and recently had 28 goals in 2022-23 with a poor Buffalo Sabres team.
Olofsson wouldn't be an expensive cost for the Penguins, as he'd likely accept a 1 year "prove it" style contract.

When looking at the season he just had with the Vegas Golden Knights, he could be a decent player for the Canadiens to take a gamble on if they are on the hunt for more secondary scoring. In 56 games this past season with Vegas, he recorded 15 goals, 14 assist, 29 points, and a plus-17 rating.
Olofsson, taken with the 181st overall pick in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft by the Buffalo Sabres, has 211 points (105G, 106A) in 370 NHL games.
