Marc-Andre Fleury is back in net for the Pittsburgh Penguins for what will be the last game of his NHL career, and the fans are absolutely loving it.

For the 1st time since 2017, goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury is back in net for the Pittsburgh Penguins.
He signed a PTO with the team to play one final preseason game wearing the sweater that he wore for the 1st decade and a half of his NHL career before being claimed in the 2017 NHL Expansion Draft by the Vegas Golden Knights.
Fleury was placed in net midway through the 2nd period against the Columbus Blue Jackets, and the sold out crowd at PPG Paints Arena couldn't get enough of it and showed their love for their former goalie.
Before the game, the lower bowl on Pittsburgh's end of the ice was nearly packed just to see the pregame skate with Fleury, and there were multiple homemade fan signs expressing their gratitude and thanks to Fleury for what he was able to accomplish during his time in Pittsburgh.
The fact that his former Penguin teammates Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, Kris Letang and Bryan Rust were all in the lineup made it all the more special for Fleury.

Marc-Andre Fleury will still retire from the NHL

Even though the news of Fleury signing a PTO with the Penguins seemed to indicate that he'd changed his mind about retiring, Fleury still intends to call it a career officially after this game.
He's spent the last several years with the Minnesota Wild, who acquired him from the Chicago Blackhawks at the 2022 Trade Deadline.
Fleury won 3 Stanley Cups with the Penguins in 2009, 2016 and 2017, and helped bring the expansion Vegas Golden Knights to the Stanley Cup Final in their 1st year in the NHL.
His 572 career wins are 2nd most in NHL history for any goalie behind only his boyhood idol, Martin Brodeur.
