Dan Muse is the first new Penguins Head Coach in a decade, and now, the youth movement he brings may be the key to keeping Sidney Crosby.

Right now, the Penguins are dealing with conflicting ideologies, as the team have stars like Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin, but with a lack of young players around them, many have pushed for a rebuild.
That rebuild was all but confirmed this off-season when the team hired a rookie coach in Dan Muse, with many expecting this to frustrate Crosby and potentially force him out the door.

Muse holds the key to Crosby's future

However, some don't see it that way, as the hiring of Muse signals the Penguins are looking to push for a youth movement, but with some very talented players in the organization, those young players may help the Penguins play some good hockey in the coming years.
As a result, in Josh Yohe's latest piece for The Athletic, he suggests that Muse and this youth movement may be similar to what we saw 20-years ago with this team.
«Look for the youth movement to roll in a big way under new coach Dan Muse. They haven't been committed to a youth movement like this in 20 years.»
Sure, they don't have three top-two picks on their roster like they did back then, but they also didn't have Crosby leading the way, and if the talent can come in and click immediately, it may be the key to keeping Crosby happy and in Pittsburgh.
On top of that, Muse is reportedly one of the hardest working coaches in hockey, and if there's one thing Crosby respects, it's hard work, so while the team may not come out of the gates hot, if they push for a true youth movement under Muse, it may help them in a big way moving forward.
