Penguins Among Top Teams to Watch as NHL Trade Market Reignites

After some big moves early in the NHL off-season, we've seen little, if any action as of late, and all this comes despite some significant insiders predicting absolute chaos throughout the summer.

With the relaxing part of the off-season for teams and players coming to an end soon with training camp almost upon us, the insiders are once again predicting that some craziness could be coming, with John Shannon the latest to speculate that moves in the near future could be coming.

Shannon name dropped players like Jack Roslovic and Viktor Oloffson as players that could get new deals, but when things to start heating up again, the Pittsburgh Penguins are an organization that could and should be involved in some big time deals.

As of late, we've heard little on the trio of Erik Karlsson, Bryan Rust and Rickard Rakell, but the overwhelming expectation heading into the 2025/26 campaign that at least one, if not two of them could be elsewhere as the Penguins look to stack future assets moving forward.

Ultimately, take these latest comments from Shannon with a grain of salt, as insiders have been predicting one of the most chaotic and landscape changing off-seasons in recent NHL history, and thus far we've seen little more than a few minor trades and some free agency signings, but when things eventually do pop off, Kyle Dubas and the Penguins are positioned to be key players for some big time moves heading into the new season.
