Penguins forward Justin Brazeau takes a positive step toward return to game action

Pittsburgh Penguins forward Justin Brazeau, who has missed the last handful of games, has taken a positive step toward returning from his injury.
The Pittsburgh Penguins have multiple injuries right now, most notably to captain Sidney Crosby, who was hurt last month while playing for Team Canada in the Olympics.
They also recently lost forward Justin Brazeau to an upper-body injury, but there is good news on that front.
Brazeau, who is still considered week to week, skated today at Delta Center as the Penguins were getting ready to play the Utah Mammoth, and it is considered an encouraging step.
Justin Brazeau (week-to-week) is on the ice in a regular jersey, though that doesn't always mean cleared for contact in this setting. Encouraging step regardless.

Brazeau, who is playing in his first year in a Penguins sweater, has 30 points (16G, 14A) in 48 games.
Justin Brazeau Is In His First Year In A Penguins Sweater
Brazeau was never drafted into the NHL after playing with the North Bay Battalion of the Ontario Hockey League. He then signed an AHL deal with the Toronto Marlies, and later signed with the Providence Bruins, the American Hockey League affiliate of the Boston Bruins.
Last March, he was traded to the Minnesota Wild for Marat Khusnutdinov, Jakub Lauko and a sixth round pick in the 2025 NHL Entry Draft.
He has 59 points (32G, 27A) in 143 career NHL games with the Wild, Bruins and Penguins.
