Pittsburgh Penguins general manager Kyle Dubas has had a lot to work on in the offseason, and according to new rumors, he may be looking to target his former team, the Toronto Maple Leafs.
As it stands, the Maple Leafs are in a bit of a pickle with RFA, Nick Robertson. A deal has yet to be made, and there have been all sorts of rumors that Robertson could be an offer sheet target. Now, a new report is suggesting that Dubas would want to hit Robertson with an offer sheet. After all, they would only have to give up a third-round pick if the Leafs were to let him walk.
Overall, Robertson is an exceptional talent who can score over a point per game in the AHL. Meanwhile, he has 33 points in 81-career NHL matches. If he can stay healthy, there is no doubt that he would be a huge asset to either the Penguins or the Maple Leafs. Only time will tell what happens next.
