Ahead of the draft, Kyle Dubas has addressed the excitement, noting that the team haven't picked this high in a long, long time, noting that the two players they pick in the first round will be key to the future of the organization.
"It's exciting. I mean, the team hasn't picked this high in a long time. It's the start of a massive opportunity for us to grow and evolve and really build the team back into a contender again."
This suggests that the team will indeed look to use both of these picks, with the likes of Victor Eklund and Kashawn Aitcheson clearly on their radar late in the lottery, and if they can land two players of that caliber, it will be a much needed injection of talent into an underwhelming prospect pool.
