The Pittsburgh Penguins desperately need an infusion of young talent, and now, a top insider has identified an RFA that Kyle Dubas must target this summer.
While the Pittsburgh Penguins added both Rutger McGroarty and Ville Kouvinen to their roster late in the season, this is a team that certainly need to find some young talent on their blue line.
That addition could come via trade, the draft or free agency, and now, The Athletic's Josh Yohe has identified the perfect potential addition, and it would come through an RFA offer sheet.

At 23-years of age, Byram fits the timeline of the Penguins perfectly, as he could help the team compete in Sidney Crosby's final years, but he could also be a staple of their blue line for years to come, much like Kris Letang has done for the past 15 years.
In 2024/25, Byram skated in all 82 games for the first time in his career with Buffalo, tallying 7 goals and 38 points in the process, but with the Sabres clearly not having a plan moving forward, the right offer sheet may allow a team to pry him away from them.
Ultimately, the Penguins have plenty of draft picks, and perhaps the best way to build is through an offer sheet or two, with the likes of JJ Peterka, Mason McTavish and Marco Rossi all intriguing options as well, but if their fans and Dubas could pick anyone, Byram may just be that choice.
