Multiple Pittsburgh Penguins players are on the verge of various milestones in the upcoming year, including Sidney Crosby, Kris Letang, and Tristan Jarry.
The Pittsburgh Penguins might not be projected by many to make the postseason, but multiple players are set to meet personal and historic milestones.
Sidney Crosby Eyes 1,700 Points and Top-10 All-Time Rankings
Sidney Crosby hasn't shown any signs of slowing down, already having reached 1,687 points (625G, 1,062A) and was easily Pittsburgh's leading scorer last year.
Crosby, if he remains healthy, will easily reach the 1,700 point mark and continue to solidify himself as one of the best players in NHL history, not just Penguins history.
He's currently ranked 9th all time in points, 2nd only to his former Penguins teammate Mario Lemieux, and he can pass him this year if he has another strong showing.
Letang, Karlsson, and Jarry Also Closing in on Major Career Milestones
Penguins goaltender Tristan Jarry, who is once again the starter in the Penguins crease after the trade of
Alex Nedeljkovic to the San Jose Sharks, is closing in on a milestone of his own with 293 career games, only 7 away from the 300 mark.
Kris Letang, who has dealt with multiple injury troubles in recent years including a pair of strokes and heart surgery, is only 3 assists from reaching 600 in his career. While it's a longshot, he's also only 25 goals away from 200; if he can stay healthy, he can reach the 1,200 career games played, as he's only 39 away.
