The Penguins have a very bright future, and in 2025/26, the WBS Penguins are dominating on the back of two of the organization's top prospects.
Over the past 18 months, Kyle Dubas and the Pittsburgh Penguins front office have done a great job of rebuilding the future of this organization, with some top prospects emerging as the future of the team.
We've already seen that at the NHL level thus far, with the likes of Ben Kindel and
Harrison Brunicke emerging as solid pieces for the team, and with a relatively successful start to the year, optimism is growing in Pittsburgh.
Two Penguins prospects leading a hot start in the AHL
However, down in the American Hockey League, the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins are off to a fantastic start, going 3-0-0 through three games while scoring 11 goals and giving up just 4 goals in that span.
The biggest reason for that success is two prospects who are pushing hard for an NHL debut in 2025/26, with
Tristan Broz and
Sergei Murashov both standing out in a big way.
Firstly is the talented 23-year old Broz, who was solid in his first AHL season a year ago, but with 3 goals and 4 points in 3 games, the 6-foot-0, 203 pound centre is making a genuine impact at both ends of the ice.
Then is the goaltending star Sergei Murashov, who many believe will overtake both
Arturs Silovs and
Joel Blomqvist soon, with a dominant 1.50 GAA and .944 save percentage through two starts this year.
Ultimately, it will take a lot more than three hot games for both to push their way into an NHL role, but with so much potential, confidence and a hot start, it's easy to see why the Penguins are so excited about their development moving forward.
