The Penguins have announced that Arturs Silovs will be starting in goal tonight vs. the Capitals, as well as several other crucial lineup changes.

Tonight, the Pittsburgh Penguins return home to take on the Washington Capitals at PPG Paints Arena in what's being billed as 'Pittsburgh Night', a full celebration of the city. Puck drop is set for 7:30 PM.
No team has had Washington's number quite like Pittsburgh over the course of the last decade. Since the start of the 2015-16 season, the Pens have collected 24 wins over their rivals, the most of any NHL club.
They've also earned points in seven of their last 11 meetings (6-4-1) dating back to November 2022.

Tonight begins an important stretch that will see the Penguins play five of their next eight games on home ice.

If the Penguins can remain hot on the penalty kill, they should continue to win many games

One major strength for the Penguins lately has been their penalty kill, which has allowed just one goal in the last six games, going 16-for-17 (94.1%) in that time.
The club also made a flurry of roster moves this week. Sergei Murashov, Danton Heinen, and Ryan Graves were recalled from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, while Tristan Jarry, Noel Acciari, and Justin Brazeau were placed on injured reserve.
Owen Pickering was reassigned to the AHL. Murashov, the AHL Goaltender of the Month for October, has been stellar with a 1.73 GAA and .931 save percentage.
Heinen led the AHL with 14 points in 10 games, while Graves was a team-best +9 with seven points from the blue line.
Head coach Dan Muse confirmed Arturs Silovs will start in goal. Filip Hallander is day-to-day, so Joona Koppanen draws in after just being called up, and no final decision has been made on rookie defenseman Harrison Brunicke, who has played nine NHL games so far.
