Jordan Binnington Caught Trying to Ruin a Historic Moment For Alex Ovechkin After 900th Career Goal

This evening, St. Louis Blues goaltender Jordan Binnington tried to pull off a petty move toward Alex Ovechkin after he scored his 900th goal.
Alex Ovechkin has been on the path to 900 goals in the NHL after passing Wayne Gretzky's all-time goal record near the end of last season.
Tonight, Ovechkin finally buried his 900th and the celebration kicked off.
In the moments after the goal, Ovechkin's teammates were looking to grab the historic puck from the back of the net.
As they went to grab the puck they noticed that Blues goalie Jordan Binnington had stolen the puck and was looking to keep it for himself

Binnington looked to steal the puck by stuffing it in his hockey pants but the linesman quickly saw has intentions and demanded to have the puck back.
Binnington is known for his on-ice antics and at times being disrespectful towards opponents and this is just the latest and likely worst example of his disrespect.
With the goal, Ovechkin has now tallied 3 goals and 8 points for the Capitals which is still a steep drop off from his production last season.
It remains to be seen if Ovechkin can find another level to his game or if he has plateaued after finally passing Gretzky's record.
