Tonight, the Philadelphia Flyers have received bad news about an injury to key forward Tyson Foerster.

The Pittsburgh Penguins and Philadelphia Flyers continue to battle for a playoff spot in the Metropolitan Division.
The Penguins have built up a 5 point lead over the Flyers in the standings and now the Flyers bad luck has continued as Tyson Foerster blocked a shot and was in noticeable pain but finished the game out anyway.
Now, Flyers head coach Rick Tocchet spoke to the media and gave an official update on Foerster's status going forward.

Rick Tocchet Gives an Ominous Update on Tyson Foerster's Injury

During the press conference, Tocchet ruled Foerster out for tonight's game.
In addition, Tocchet was unwilling to give any sort of timeline for his return indicating that he will be evaluated later.
It remains to be seen how long Foerster will be out but if he is out long term it could be a bad sign for the Flyers ability to make the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Foerster this season has 7 points in 11 games and is coming off of his best season in the NHL where he racked up 43 points.
At just 23 years old, Foerster is one of the Flyers best up and coming talents and fit right in under Rick Tocchet's system and looks to be a crucial part of the future.
With Foerster out, the Flyers will have to rely on some of their veterans to step up instead playing in the top-six going forward.
As more updates are given on Foerster's injury and status going forward we will pass them along to you.
