The Penguins summer is just heating up, and now, after a move from Kyle Dubas, the team will play in a prospect tournament with four other teams in Buffalo.
The NHL's off-season has been off to a fun start, and while things have slowed down as of late, the Penguins are staying busy after acquiring
Arturs Silovs on Sunday, with more action yet to come.
According to a recent announcement, the team is set to participate in a prospects tournament in Buffalo with the Sabres, Blue Jackets, Devils and Bruins in early September.
The official release revealed that Penguins prospects will play in three games in the tournament, giving Dan Muse, Kyle Dubas and the front office a chance to see their prospects in action, with their schedule looking like this:
Sept. 12 - Bruins
Sept. 14 - Blue Jackets
Sept. 15 - Sabres
While the Penguins have been competing in this event for a number of years now, their prospect pool got a major boost this off-season, and we may not yet know the official roster, with fans excited to see how the young names perform, this should be another very fun event for the young players.
Perhaps the most intriguing player of all is No. 11 overall pick Ben Kindel, who fans will get to see in action alongside other talented prospects, with all those names given a big opportunity to step up and make a name for themselves early in their Penguins tenure.
Ultimately, this is a great event for the team and for fans to get an early look at some of these names, and with a prospect pool that continues to improve, there will be plenty for everyone to keep an eye on at this tournament.
