The Pittsburgh Penguins beat the Nashville Predators in Sweden, and then several stars were spotted with Swedish hockey legend Peter Forsberg.
The Pittsburgh Penguins beat the Nashville Predators as part of the NHL Global Series in Sweden, 4-0.
It continued Pittsburgh's strong start to the year that not many fans and analysts would have expected.
Following the game, Penguins players like
Sidney Crosby and
Erik Karlsson were seen meeting with NHL Swedish legend Peter Forsberg, one of the greatest players in NHL history.
Crosby and Forsberg
swapped sticks with one another, something Crosby said was a great experience.
I did not expect that. I talked to Patrick Hörnqvist before the game and he asked if I would still consider doing a stick swap if the chance came. I had no idea it would happen like that. But it was really cool to be able to do it. It was not something I did much when I was younger, collecting sticks. But the older I have gotten, the more I have understood how special that is. And especially with someone like him, someone I grew up watching and really admired for the way he played. I also had some good battles against him. So I am glad I got the chance. - Sidney Crosby
During Crosby's rookie year, Forsberg was part of the divisional foe Philadelphia Flyers.
The Penguins Beat The Predators In Sweden
The Penguins are now in third place in the Metropolitan Division standings, a start that not many would have expected, as the Penguins were widely projected to miss the postseason.
