Last night, the Pittsburgh Penguins took down the Minnesota Wild in convincing fashion with a 4-1 and after the game the team had a special moment with an unexpected guest.
The Penguins have been off to a red hot start to the season getting contributions from everyone in the lineup.
Last night that continued led by a multi-point night from Bryan Rust as well as a goal from impressive rookie Ben Kindel who has officially passed the 9 game threshold to have his NHL contract guaranteed for this season.
Led by Dan Muse, Evgeni Malkin, and Sidney Crosby the Penguins have put together an incredible culture this season and last night that culture was on display when Make-A-Wish recipient Weston Paszkiewicz joined the team in the locker room after the game.
After an introduction from head coach Dan Muse, Weston shared a great moment with the Penguins and was given a special gift.
Penguins Share a Heartwarming Moment With Special Guest After Big Win
Weston who is facing a battle with leukemia was given the Penguins' player of the game award from the team.
As a result, Weston was given the player of the game helmet cementing himself as part of the big win and celebrating a night he will never forget.
The gesture from the Penguins is one that fans expect from such a first class organization run by incredible people.
As the season goes on, it will be fun to see if Penguins continue to give back to fans throughout the season or if this was a one time occurrence.
