Pittsburgh Penguins goalie Tristan Jarry is now a proud father, and he revealed that this change in his life makes him no longer sweat the small stuff.

As the Penguins came off the ice into the post-practice family skate last weekend, one tender moment stood out: as Tristan Jarry stepped off, his wife Hannah was holding their 6-month-old son Bennett, who was beaming with excitement at the sight of his dad.
The goaltender's playful grin behind the mask was a glimpse into how fatherhood has reshaped his outlook both on and off the ice.
Jarry has been one of the early-season standouts for Pittsburgh, going 5-1 with a .923 save percentage and 2.35 goals-against average while splitting time in the crease with Arturs Silovs.
The win was his fourth straight, and it came Thursday in Minnesota, fittingly, the same place where he recorded his first victory after a tough 2024-25 season that included a stint in the minors.
Life changed this past spring with the birth of Bennett Raymond, who carries Tristan's middle name in honor of a grandfather whose image still adorns Jarry's goalie masks.
The months that followed taught him balance and patience, and how to function on very little sleep.
Not typically a coffee drinker, Jarry even turned to caffeine during 4:30 a.m. skates in western Canada so that he could still be home for Hannah and Bennett.

Tristan Jarry believes last year's difficulties, combined with his newbor,n have changed his perspective on life

He frequently mentions that Hannah was his «safe spot» and helped to keep him grounded. Returning to Pittsburgh for training camp, Jarry said he worked on learning from the difficulties of the season gone by and letting go of perfectionism.
"I think just not worrying so much. I think honestly, before having him with us, you would worry about like, what time you have to go for a nap, or what you're eating," Jarry said. "And now, it's more so, okay, I get to eat and I get to have a nap. It's things like that that you didn't really think of before, but it's just a part of your routine now.

"So, it might not be as structured and everything that you want in a day, but you're still accomplishing the same thing. So, I think that was a huge thing for me, was just kind of letting go a little bit."

For Jarry, the message is simple: don't sweat the small stuff. The Penguins netminder has found peace and perspective in fatherhood, and he's channeling both into one of the best starts of his career.
