Rickard Rakell Linked to Four Teams by NHL Insider

Veteran forward Rakell, 32, is once again generating a lot of interest on the market as the NHL offseason unfolds.

The Swedish winger has become one of Pittsburgh's most appealing trade assets, especially as the team continues to explore a rebuild under president and general manager Kyle Dubas.

His cap hit of $5 million per year through the 2027-28 season makes Rakell an even more attractive asset. That cost-efficient deal, paired with his recent production and versatility, has prompted several teams to inquire about his availability, in spite of his very high value.

TFP added that that the Kings, Kraken, Senators, and Blackhawks are possible suitors.

The Los Angeles Kings have shown past interest in Rakell and remain a logical destination. LA continues to seek depth and scoring on the right side, and Rakell's ability to play both wings gives them added flexibility in their top six.

Seattle is another club reportedly in the mix. After a disappointing season, the Kraken have already begun reshaping their roster and Rakell's offensive touch could spark a boost to their power play and five-on-five production.

Ottawa also fits the mold. The Senators are searching for proven top-six help to complement their young core and make a serious push for the postseason. Rakell's experience and scoring touch would immediately improve their forward group.

The Blackhawks round out the list of suitors. With Connor Bedard entering his sophomore season, adding a dynamic winger like Rakell could give the franchise cornerstone a legitimate scoring partner.

Though the Penguins aren't in a hurry to move him, interest is growing, and as we've seen before, that can lead to something bigger.
