Penguins' Rutger McGroarty had to exit his team's practice early today after a dangerous on-ice collision with his teammate and was holding his head.

Rutger McGroarty left practice early after a collision in a two-on-two drill, according to NHL insider Seth Rorabaugh. McGroarty was checked hard in the corner and sat on the bench for several minutes before an athletic trainer tended to him.

What Rutger McGroarty was seen doing afterwards that led to further concern

At one point, he appeared to be touching his head/neck area, raising concern for a possible injury. There was no immediate update on the condition he might be in, or whether he will join practice at a later point.
