Penguins goalie Arturs Silovs has received some good news, as Team Latvia has named him as one of their netminders for the 2026 Winter Olympics.

The Latvian Hockey Federation unveiled its lineup for the 2026 Winter Olympics on Tuesday, and it is full of veteran players who have had recent success on the international circuit.
The lineup consists of six NHL players, four AHL players, and features Penguins goalie Arturs Silovs.
Latvia is again relying on its experienced group of players, as 12 members from their 2022 Winter Olympic team from Beijing will be returning. Defenseman Ralfs Freibergs is going to represent Latvia at his third Olympic Games at the age of 34.
Forward Kaspars Daugavins will be representing Latvia at his fourth Olympic Games at 37 years old. Daugavins, a former forward of the Ottawa Senators and Boston Bruins, briefly retired from professional hockey but is now back to represent Latvia.

What Team Latvia did at the 2023 IIHF World Championships

Many members of the roster also played at the 2023 IIHF World Championships, where Latvia secured a historic bronze medal, its first ever from a top IIHF tournament.
Also in the lineup is Kristers Gudlevskis, who has been on the roster in Beijing and has not actively participated in any of their games in the last year.

Why Kristers Gudlevskis likely won't see any action

He will most likely be sitting behind NHL goaltenders Silovs and Columbus Blue Jackets goalie Elvis Merzlikins.
Leading the way is forward Teodors Blugers, known as Teddy Blueger, who was included in the roster despite being plagued by a lower-body injury for most of the season.
Completing the roster for the blue line corps is defenseman Alberts Smits, 18 years old, who was part of the Latvian team for the World Junior Championships held in Minnesota.
