Sidney Crosby Comments on Breaking Wayne Gretzky's Remarkable Record

Sidney Crosby has just become the first player in NHL history to record 20 consecutive seasons of a point-per-game or better average, surpassing Wayne Gretzky.
This is a pretty remarkable feat considering not even The Great One, who many believe was the greatest player of all-time, was unable able to do what Crosby just did.
In the Penguins' 7-3 loss to the Buffalo Sabres on Thursday night, Crosby recorded his 80th point of the season to clinch his 20th career season at a point-per-game pace or better.
Evgeni Malkin currently has 15 point-per-game seasons under his belt
Crosby had been tied with Gretzky at 19, but now sits atop the all-time list by himself. Former and current players Mario Lemieux and Evgeni Malkin, teammates both, have achieved 15 point-per-game seasons in their careers as well.
When asked about the milestone, Crosby credited hard work and dedication for his success.
"Work ethic. You have to continue to get better and learn. Even after this long you have to continue to evolve and adjust.
It's probably hard right now after a loss like that. But, yeah, I just think there are a lot of guys who have contributed to that. I'm thankful for the guys I've played with who contributed to it. It's a special milestone."

The Penguins, who have lost three in a row, will attempt to regain momentum Sunday when they host the Ottawa Senators at PPG Paints Arena. Face-off is at 5 p.m.
Despite the fact that the Penguins virtually have no chance at making the playoffs, they can continue to play spoiler down the stretch, as the Senators have not yet clinched a post-season spot.
