This afternoon, Sidney Crosby finally spoke after missing Team Canada’s heartbreaking overtime loss against Team USA due to injury.

Sidney Crosby’s Olympic experience in 2026 was an absolute nightmare for the future Hall of Famer.
Crosby suffered an injury on an awkward hit from Radko Gudas that knocked him out of the tournament.
With Crosby unavailable the Canadians came up just short after a stunning goal from Jack Hughes in overtime.
After the game, Connor McDavid was expected to speak to the media but Sidney Crosby took the podium instead answering questions about his health.

Sidney Crosby addresses the media after missing gold medal game

In his post game comments, Crosby was selfless as always confirming he was doing what he thought was best for the team.
He then commended his teammates for their effort, passion, and play in the gold medal game despite the loss.
It was a tough decision, obviously in your head you always want to be out there and find every way possible. But not at the expense of what needs to be done. And then watching how we played today, the guys played incredible.
With the loss, the 2026 Olympics will now always be what could have been for Crosby and Canada.
They will now have to wait four years until the 2030 Olympic Games to get revenge on Team USA on the grandest stage of all.
As for Crosby’s health he didn’t provide much of an update on his health going forward as the NHL returns to play.
Hopefully, as the Penguins return to practice Crosby will be back on the ice with the team and ready to go when they face the New Jersey Devils.
