Sidney Crosby's Status Revealed for Game vs. Alex Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals

Sidney Crosby is just as tough as any hockey player can be.
He just finished
the Four Nations tournament where he played in all four games despite suffering an injury the week prior to the event.
The ailment did seem to affect his game as he was not shooting the puck like he normally does, but he was still very effective putting up four assists and a goal.
That being said, it is right back to business as the Penguins have a game against the Washington Capitals this afternoon.
Penguins head coach Mike Sullivan, who also served as head coach of Team USA during the Four Nations faceoff, gave us an update on Sid's status ahead of the game, calling him a game-time decision.
"Sid and I talked briefly coming back here this morning. Right now, we'll probably make him a game-time decision. He was obviously excused from practice today but he's feeling good."
it would certainly be interesting if Crosby ends up sitting the game out after playing in the tournament, but perhaps it would be understandable considering where the Penguins are in the standings.
After all, it is pretty clear that the team will not be making the playoffs this year, and probably won't again in Crosby's career.
As such, this tournament was like another Stanley Cup final for Crosby, and another victory.
Crosby did not practice with the Penguins yesterday, instead taking the day off to heal up in preparation for the remainder of the regular season.
That was all part of the plan though, so it seems likely that Crosby will in fact be in the lineup against
Alexander Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals.
