Stuart Skinner pulls off a potential save of the year against the Philadelphia Flyers

Tonight, Penguins goaltender Stuart Skinner added to his season highlight reel with an unbelievable save against the Philadelphia Flyers.
The Pittsburgh Penguins are in action tonight for the first time since the trade deadline has passed.
They are also without superstar Evgeni Malkin who will miss the next five games after being suspended by the NHL's Department of Player Safety.
With Sidney Crosby already out injured the Penguins were going to need someone unexpected to step up to fill the massive void left by Crosby and Malkin.
So far tonight, goalie Stuart Skinner has been the one to step up making several big saves including a save of the year candidate.
Stuart Skinner pulls off potential save of the year moment against the Flyers
Early in the game, the Penguins and Flyers came out buzzing trading high danger offensive chances leading to a lot of action for the goalies.
Skinner, early in the game came up with a big breakaway save on Flyers star Trevor Zegras.
Then, a bit later in the game, Skinner pulled out an incredible save stoning Garnet Hathaway off of a strange bounce just barely getting the top of his stick on the puck.
Skinner has continued to have ups and downs since coming to Pittsburgh in the blockbuster deal with the Oilers but has been a fighter doing whatever it takes to win with the Penguins.
Despite some lackluster counting stats for Skinner his play has continued to keep the Penguins in the playoff race much longer than anyone expected.
Over the next 5 games it will be interesting to see how high of a level his game can get to as he tries to keep the Penguins afloat in the playoff race.
