Throughout this off-season, the Pittsburgh Penguins have been the centre of attention in the NHL, with many waiting for the team to make blockbuster deals involving
Erik Karlsson,
Rickard Rakell and/or
Bryan Rust.
They may not be the only players available though, as Kelsey Surmacz of
The Hockey News has revealed three other forwards that could all potentially be available via trade before the 2025/26 season.
Penguins Veterans Heinen, Hayes, and Acciari Emerging as Trade Chips Amid Stalled Market
Unsurprisingly, neither of their big names stars will be available, with Surmacz naming Danton Heinen and the veteran duo of Kevin Hayes and Noel Acciari as players that could be moved if Kyle Dubas wants to keep collecting assets for the future of the organization.
None of the three played particularly large roles for the Penguins a year ago, but given that two of the three have been very productive throughout their NHL careers, there's a chance that contending teams looking for small upgrades could be wanting to make a deal with Kyle Dubas.
Ultimately, something has to break for Pittsburgh this off-season, as they are a team that need to off-load their veterans, and if no team takes Rakell, Rust or Karlsson at Kyle Dubas' current asking price, don't be shocked to see the other three start drawing attention.
