Top NHL Scout Corey Pronman Mocks Massive Defenseman to the Pittsburgh Penguins
The Penguins have a chance to land a franchise changing star at No. 11 in the 2025 NHL Draft, and now they've been mocked to land a big talent at that pick.
The Pittsburgh Penguins have had some solid luck at the NHL Draft in recent years, and with the No. 11 overall selection this season, they'll look to land a franchise cornerstone that can help take over the team once
Sidney Crosby and his veteran teammates move on.
While they won't be able to land one of the few huge stars that will be in this draft, there's going to be some quality available with the No. 11 pick, and in his latest mock draft, Corey Pronman has the Penguins potentially landing a big time star.
11. Pittsburgh Penguins: Kashawn Aitcheson, LHD, Barrie (OHL)
Aitcheson adds significant physicality to Pittsburgh's system while also having the size, mobility and skill of a top-four NHL defenseman.
At that pick, Pronman has the Penguins taking Kashawn Aitcheson of the OHL's Barrie Colts, and while he's not as big a name as others in the draft, he brings a huge frame as he stands at 6-foot-2 and 198 pounds on the blue line.
He doesn't sacrifice skill for that size either, as the 18-year old tallied 26 goals and 59 points in 64 games played this past season, and with many seeing him as someone that has very high upside, there's a chance that he's not even on the board by the time the Penguins are making their selection.
There's also the potential that Pittsburgh get the Rangers pick at No. 12 to double up on talented young players of the future, but for now the focus will be on the other pick, and with the Penguins needing an injection of young talent on the blue line, don't be surprised to see Aitcheson's name called on draft night in what would be a fantastic pick for the team.
