One of the best prospects in the Pittsburgh Penguins organization should be promoted following a breakout first season in North America.

The Pittsburgh Penguins President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Kyle Dubas traded many key players this season in an attempt to fill in on draft picks, to build strong foundations for the future.
One of the best prospects in the organization has just finished his 2024-25 season and deserves a promotion after a successful OHL campaign.
Indeed, Emil Pieniniemi, a 20-year-old defenseman drafted 91st overall in 2023, scored 60 points, including 10 goals, in 60 games with the Kingston Frontenacs in the OHL. He added 10 points in 11 playoff games, but his team was finally eliminated last night by the Barrie Colts in the second round.
The Finnish defenseman also scored three points, including two goals, in six games during last year's World Junior Championship.
On X, people are suggesting that he could be ready for the next level, deserving a promotion for his performances in the junior:
"It was a breakout season for Emil Pieniniemi, who finished the year with 60 points in 60 games and added another 10 points in 11 playoff appearances. The Finnish defenseman adapted seamlessly to North American hockey, quickly finding his place and making an impact at both ends of the ice.

He also stood out on the international stage, showing at the World Juniors that he can compete against the best players of his age group. It was a big step forward in his development and a season that firmly put him on the radar."
The Penguins will surely look to make big moves this summer to help Crosby, Malkin and Letang take the team back on the right track.
Pieniniemi could definitely be a part of the solution in Pittsburgh, but perhaps more experienced players will need to be acquired by Dubas to get into the playoffs next season.
