Bryan Rust's name continues to appear in trade discussions this off-season, and now, one revelation about his no-move clause makes a deal all the more possible.
The Pittsburgh Penguins have been on the down swing in recent years, and while they've still got some elite veteran talent, all signs this off-season are pointing towards them being the biggest seller in the entire NHL.
Now, momentum has picked up surrounding veteran Bryan Rust, and while the team originally didn't want to move him, given that they're shifting towards a rebuild, they may end up having no choice.
Things could now be moving in that direction however, especially with a recent report that has revealed Rust's no-movement clause officially expires on July 1st, meaning that the team don't need any approval to trade him to one of 31 other teams around the league.
Last season, the 33-year old was once again fantastic, tallying 31 goals and 65 points in 71 games played, and while many want him to play out the remainder of his career with the Penguins, it would be in the best interest of GM Kyle Dubas to get a solid return for Rust while he can.
At this point, it's unclear which way this is going, as a move for Rust would benefit the player and the organization, but given his loyalty to the team and their loyalty to him thus far, there's always a chance that they keep him and let his career play out in Pittsburgh.
