Wild Get Official Trade Offer for Marco Rossi: We Now Know What Kyle Dubas Will Have to Pay

The Pittsburgh Penguins are widely expected to be a major seller this summer, but with the team having veterans to move, they could potentially look to get a young, NHL ready talent back.

The player they've been most linked with as a result is Minnesota Wild centre Marco Rossi, who is drawing interest from all over the league, and now, it appears as though the team have officially received a trade offer from the Vancouver Canucks.

According to reports from The Athletic, the Canucks offered Minnesota the 15th overall pick in the 2025 NHL Draft and a player for Rossi, and given that the Wild haven't accepted that deal, it's expected that they're hoping for more in a return.

That means that to beat that offer, the Penguins would need to offer a higher draft pick, or perhaps one of their key players like Bryan Rust, and at this point in time, it's unclear what Pittsburgh are willing to part ways with.

They currently hold the No. 11 overall pick in the 2025 NHL Draft, and with very few young pieces that they're willing to part ways with to offer, it would potentially take more than the Penguins are willing to part ways with to land the talented young forward.

Ultimately, this is a situation that Pittsburgh should stay very involved with, as Rossi could be a key piece of their team long-term as they look to get younger moving forward, but if it means giving up a little too much, don't be surprised to see GM Kyle Dubas unwilling to overpay for him.
