With the NHL Trade Deadline coming up on March 8, it's becoming more clear on what teams are going to be competing for a playoff spot and what teams will be watching things pan out in April to June.

Well, the San Jose Sharks are one of those teams who everybody knows will be watching the playoffs from the couch. So, the Sharks made a player available, even though he doesn't really play in the NHL.

Sasha Chmelevski is a 24-year-old late-bloomer, who was selected in the 6th round of the 2017 draft. The forward has played 24 games in the NHL and has ten assists, but the American decided to play in Russia the past two years in the KHL. San Jose, possibly getting the gist that he may not want to play there, considering the fact he chose the KHL over playing for them twice, has made him available and teams are already talking to his agent. One team is the Vancouver Canucks, according to The Hockey News.

Sasha has 48 points in 67 games with Ufa Salavat Yulayev and this year, he has 21 goals and 22 assists, tallying up to 43 points in 49 games. Chmelevski has been a top commodity in the KHL for the past two years now, and may come overseas soon to play hockey.
