Rumors are swirling that Toronto Maple Leafs GM Brad Treliving may have greenlit William Nylander's agent, Lewis Gross, to explore talks with other teams.

According to a recent revelation by Eklund on HockeyBuzz.com, there's speculation that Lewis Gross, the agent for Leafs' William Nylander, has been given the nod to engage in discussions with the Anaheim Ducks.
"While they aren't likely to eat cap money, they could take on salary, which is why there are rumblings that Anaheim may have been permitted to talk to the agent of the Leafs' William Nylander... It is widely known that Nylander would like to play for the Kings in SoCal...you can still live in Manhattan Beach if you are a Duck...is this an option for Nylander?"

Despite leading the Leafs with an impressive 46 points in 32 games, Nylander, currently without a contract extension, has stirred concerns about his future with the team.
Nylander could instantly become the standout player for the Ducks, securing a spot on their first line. Mason McTavish, the Ducks' current top scorer with 24 points in 27 games, could benefit significantly from Nylander's presence, potentially forming a dynamic duo.
Beyond on-ice impact, Nylander might assume a mentorship role for Leo Carlsson, the 2023 2nd overall pick, who has 15 points in 23 games but is sidelined with an injury. Nylander, being a fellow Swede, could provide guidance and camaraderie.
With Nylander on board, the Ducks could boast a formidable top line of McTavish-Carlsson-Nylander, setting the stage for long-term dominance. The cost of acquiring Nylander remains uncertain, but if the Leafs lose him to free agency, the Ducks might secure his talents without giving up assets.
