Ryan Reaves Lies In Recent Interview About Brad Marchand
Marchand's Hit and Leafs' Inaction
In a game last Thursday, Brad Marchand, the captain of the Boston Bruins, sent Timothy Liljegren, a Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman, into the boards, causing quite a stir.
Liljegren's injury, confirmed as a severe high ankle sprain, forced him onto the LTIR.
The Toronto community expressed its disappointment with the Leafs' lack of retaliation, given the team's recent acquisitions, including players like Domi, Reaves, and Bertuzzi, known for their physical play.
Reaves' Explanation Falls Short
Ryan Reaves, however, claimed that he didn't have the chance to confront Marchand because of the Bruins' last change privilege.
"First of all, 'Get away from the bench.' Second of all, I guess he was lucky I wasn't out on the ice with him. Yeah, unfortunately they had the last change, so I didn't get any shifts against him." - Ryan Reaves
This statement raised eyebrows when it was discovered that Marchand and Reaves shared the ice on two occasions after Liljegren's injury.
