Vegas Golden Knights Officially Ink First-Round Draft Pick to a Three-Year Contract

The Vegas Golden Knights haven't held on to many of the first round picks they've used in their short history, as they most often like to trade away the pick or the player before they can become anything at the NHL level.

However, that has now changed as the team have officially announced that they are signing 2024 first-round pick Trevor Connelly to his three-year Entry Level Contract, with many believing he could make an impact at the NHL level immediately.

The 19-year old had just 4 goals and 13 points in 23 games played with Providence this season, but with solid height and the skills to translate to the NHL level, it's safe to say that optimism is high for his potential.

Unfortunately, there also comes a bit of character risk with Connelly, as there have been some incidents in his past that raised many questions about his maturity moving forward, but thus far, it appears as though the Golden Knights aren't too worried about that.

The California native was drafted on the back of two dominant years in the USHL, and now, it appears he's going to be expected to make his biggest leap yet, and with the Golden Knights all but clinched in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, his debut should come very, very quickly.

Only time will tell whether or not this was the right pick for Vegas, but thus far, Connelly has shown them no reason to doubt his talents, and if the controversies of his past are truly in the past, this could be a very intriguing player at the next level for the Golden Knights.
