During Sunday's game, Namestnikov took a hard puck to the side of his head from a slap shot by teammate Nate Schmidt. He was rushed to the hospital, where it was discovered he had a fractured cheekbone. After being released, he returned to Winnipeg on Monday.
Despite the injury, Jets head coach Rick Bowness hasn't ruled out Namestnikov for Game 5 on Tuesday. It's a testament to the resilience of hockey players, with Namestnikov possibly suiting up for an elimination game just days after being diagnosed with a serious injury.
