In an awful break of news for both the player and the team, Toronto Maple Leafs defenceman Connor Timmins will be out for the foreseeable future after suffering an injury in last night's preseason game.

"Sheldon Keefe says Conor Timmins suffered a lower body injury late in Friday's game against Montreal. He'll go for an MRI today to determine the severity. The Leafs are already dealing with an injury to John Klingberg on the right side."

Timmins was brought into Toronto with the expectation of being a depth defender, but in every opportunity he's been given, he's made a major impact on the team. During this preseason, he scored six points in only two games, leading the Leafs in that category so far.
"Not just the camp he has had, he has worked incredibly hard ... to have a setback is tough news for him and for us." - Sheldon Keefe

It's not exactly clear what hit injured Timmins. Whichever one it was, it seemed to go mostly unnoticed at the time. Timmins has dealt with a few injuries since coming into the league in 2017, including a concussion and knee issues.
It's not known which hit led to the injury for Timmins, but whatever it was, it seemed to have gone unnoticed. Unfortunately for his career, Timmins has suffered a myriad of injuries in his career - including concussion and knee injuries - and is missing significant time to develop as a player.
