1145 game NHL veteran reportedly hanging up the skates for the last time
With NHL rosters mostly filled out some veteran players without homes find themselves in a difficult decision with a tough choice to make. One of the remaining players on the free agent market with a decision to make is second generation player Paul Stastny. Paul is the son of Hockey Hall of Famer, Peter Stastny.
Paul was a second round pick, who started his career with the Colorado Avalanche. Injuries began to catch up with Stastny throughout his career. Stastny would go onto play for St. Louis, Winnipeg, Vegas, and Carolina.
Last season with the Carolina Hurricanes, Stastny, 37, scored 9 goals and 13 assists in 73 games. Stastny played a career-low 11:52 per game.
The Daily Faceoff's Frank Seravalli is now reporting that Paul Stastny is calling an end to his carwer.
Stastny played 1145 NHL games scoring 293 goals and 822 points.
