The last couple weeks have been a crucial time for bubble players around the NHL, finding out their fate within the organization and deciding what's the next best step for their individual pro careers.

23 year old center Jachym Kondelik was among the cuts by the Nashville Predators close to a week ago. Yesterday he was included in the 23 players placed on waivers by their respective teams.

His situation is different because he was put on waivers to terminate his contract.

According to CapFriendly, the Nashville Predators have placed forward Jachym Kondelik on unconditional waivers for the purpose of terminating his contract.

Kondelik was selected in the fourth round by the Predators in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft and joined their organization towards the end of the 2021-22 season after completing four years at UConn in the NCAA.

In 38 games with the AHL's Milwaukee Admirals last season, the Hannover, Germany native had 11 points (five goals, six assists), 22 penalty minutes and was a minus-two.

If Kondelik clears unconditional waivers on Sunday afternoon, which is expected, he'll become an unrestricted free agent. With the demotion to the AHL happening awhile ago, I suspect this is a mutual termination between player and club. I think the probability is high that Kondelik returns home to play pro hockey in Europe.
