Columbus Blue Jackets name Mike Babcock's replacement
This afternoon Mike Babcock resigned as the Head Coach of the Columbus Blue Jackets. Despite this seeming like a shock the club wasted no time in naming his replacement.
According to Daily Faceoff's Frank Seravalli, the Blue Jackets have decided to hire Pascal Vincent as their new head coach; take a look.
#CBJ have named Pascal Vincent head coach with Babcock's official resignation.
Vincent, 51, has a ton of experience coaching outside of the NHL having coached in the QMJHL and AHL for long periods of time, earning high honours for his work at both levels.
Most recently Vincent was the head coach of the Manitoba Moose from 2016-2021.
It looks like this may have been in the works for some time as it isn't usual for a coach to step down and another one to take his place right away.
