Connor Bedard may be a rookie, but he appears to know, understand and hold close some of the more time-honoured traditions in hockey. That much became evident this week when a member of the Chicago media stood on or walked across the Blackhawks logo in the middle of the floor in the locker room.
For those who are unaware, walking or stepping on the logo in the middle of the locker room is pretty much a cardinal sin. It's something that a member of the Chicago media - likely someone new - had to learn the hard way. After being caught stepping on the logo, one media member was scorned by a number of Blackhawks players/staff. Even Bedard himself, who was in the middle of an interview, seemed bothered by the incident, clinching his teeth and shaking his head in disapproval.
Bedard may be new to the NHL, but hockey culture is built into his DNA. It's no surprise to see Bedard react that way, even in front of the camera. Players take it as a sign of disrespect when someone stands on or walks across the logo. In that sense, it's very clear that Bedard is already a Blackhawk, through and through.
