Gary Bettman Makes Massive Changes To Eight Upcoming Games In The New Year
The NHL, led by Gary Bettman, has made several adjustments to the upcoming schedule, aiming to broaden the exposure of the game through Disney-owned properties.
In a recent update, it was revealed that eight games will now be exclusively showcased on ESPN/ABC.
Among these, three key matchups - Kings vs. Bruins, Rangers vs. Flyers, and Hurricanes vs. Devils - will be nationally televised on ABC. With playoff implications at stake, as these teams vie for postseason slots, two-thirds of these games feature intense Metropolitan division rivalries.
These strategic shifts toward national broadcasts signify an increased presence of hockey on ABC, a move that bodes well for the league's visibility and the overall promotion of the sport.
