The Minnesota Wild and a long-time executive, Andrew Heydt, who spent a decade with the team, have decided to go their separate ways after an inquiry into Wild President and GM Bill Guerin.

Heydt, who served as the Wild's Director of Team Operations for a decade, left the team after accusing Guerin of verbal abuse.

"After 10 years with the #mnwild, director of team operations Andrew Heydt and the Wild have mutually agreed to part ways, I'm told. Heydt had accused Bill Guerin of verbal abuse. The Wild investigated via a third-party law firm but declined to publicly disclose the findings."

Last week, the Wild stated that they took appropriate steps to address the matter, but Guerin retains his position as President of Hockey Operations/GM.

An external law firm looked into the allegations against Guerin starting late November, conducting interviews with over 15 members of the organization.

"Two team sources indicated that the investigation into Guerin's alleged behavior was complete and the findings were delivered to upper management and ownership early this week. Wild management determined that Guerin had not committed a fireable offense, team sources said Wednesday."

Assistant General Manager Chris O'Hearn also recently left the team, following a separate investigation that the Wild insists was unrelated to the Heydt case. The Minnesota Wild did not provide any further comments on the matter.
