Before becoming the general manager of the Leafs this offseason, Brad Treliving was the GM of the Calgary Flames for nine years. Even though he didn't leave Calgary on great terms, he still has personal relationships there, much more important than hockey.
According to Lance Hornby of Post Media, Brad Treliving has left the Leafs training camp to be with the family of Chris Snow. In Calgary, Snow was Treliving's assistant general manager, who recently suffered cardiac arrest while battling ALS.
Kelsie Snow, Chris' wife, made a heartbreaking post yesterday about Chris going into cardiac arrest and having to be rushed to the hospital unresponsive. Doctors do not expect Chris to wake up from his current state.
Despite the busy beginnings of the season, Brad Treliving made the decision to be present to support his friend and his family in a horrible time. With still so much work left to be done about the Leafs opening night roster, you wouldn't expect Treliving to be in Calgary, but it's clear that he's prioritized the important things.
