Matthew Tkachuk Continues Swinging After Mark Scheifele Falls During Scrap
Florida Panthers tenacious winger Matthew Tkachuk has been known to tow the line with his play. He exhibited some questionable behavior during a fight on Saturday when his Panthers were taking on the Winnipeg Jets.
Scheifele challenged Tkachuk to a fight, retaliating to an earlier hit he received by the Panthers winger. Scheifele gave Tkachuk a hefty slash and the fists began flying.
Scheifele lost his footing early on and fell to the ice, taking Tkachuk with him. With Scheifele on his side and vulnerable Tkachuk took the opportunity to feed him a couple really good punches to the face.
And from another angle where Scheifele is facing the camera.
Both were given fighting majors, while Tkachuk got the extra two for roughing. It was a bit of a greasy one by the American but it was Scheifele and the Jets who went home happy. Scheifele contributed a Gordie Howe hat trick ( a goal and an assist) in the 6-4 victory keeping the Panthers winless (0-2) and the Jets now 1-1 to start the season.
