NHL Announces Major Change To Equipment Requirements
Following the heartbreaking incident involving the late Adam Johnson, where a skate struck him in the neck, NHL Deputy Commissioner Bill Daly recently disclosed that NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman has been actively engaged with Marty Walsh of the NHL Players' Association to address the issue of neck guards.
In a conversation with NHL Network Radio, Daly emphasized that the NHL is now putting a strong emphasis on recommending the use of neck guards.
The tragic event involving Johnson has triggered an urgent reassessment of player safety in the league, with the NHL taking proactive steps to mitigate the risks associated with such accidents.
While it won't erase the pain of Johnson's loss, this renewed commitment to player safety underscores the importance of preventing similar tragedies in the future.
