New team interested in trading for William Nylander
For weeks it appears that everything on the William Nylander trade front had was over, now it appears that might not be the case. After showcasing Nylander as a center for the most of the preseason it appears that the Toronto Maple Leafs may still be trying to trade the former 40 goal scorer.
According to Hockey Buzz Owner, Eklund, who is not always a reliable source, the Leafs are trying to make one final attempt at moving the forward. Eklund sharss that two separate sources have given the following information.
Source One
«4 Teams, all of whom have at one point or another discussed possible trade ideas with Toronto surrounding William Nylander. and one other who just inquired in the last 72 hours.»
Source One
»-Toronto did a fine job at staying under the radar temporarily but the word is out that they want very much to move Willyideally by the opener.»
According to Eklund the newest team entering the conversation with Nylander is the Chicago Blackhawks, who would be a great fit for the forward. Nylander could have an opportunity to play alongside Connor Bedard and could give the Hawks a real solid one-two punch.
Eklund also links Nylander to Minnesota, Colorado, NY Islanders and New Jersey.
While it is very unlikely the Leafs move Nylander at this time, it is surely something to watch if the Leafs decide the situation could be a distraction.
