OHL Player Left Laying Motionless After A Vicious Hit
In Wednesday night's OHL match-up between the Saginaw Spirit and Windsor Spitfires, things got tense as a Spirit player took a hard hit, leaving him sprawled on the ice.
Vegas' second-round pick, Maytas Sapovaliv, found himself in a tough spot near the boards after a forceful push from a Spitfires player during a corner play. It was a nerve-wracking moment when Sapovaliv stayed motionless, catching the attention of the referees.
The Spirit's defender got tangled up in a risky situation above the red line, leading to an awkward and speedy collision with the boards. Such hits in that specific part of the ice are widely recognized in hockey as pretty bad.
Thankfully, after the game, the good news came in - Sapovaliv avoided serious injury. The medical team evaluated him, and he got the green light to travel back with the team to Saginaw.
