Rumors had swirled that the two parties were far apart on a new deal, but it appears that is no longer the case. Last night, NHL Insider Elliotte Friedman broke the news that the Philadelphia Flyers have signed restricted free agent forward Morgan Frost to a two year contract worth just over of $2M.
Frost, 24, has played 158 career games and scored 19 goals and 46 points in 81 games last season. Frost proved last season to be one of the bright spots for the Flyers.
This team-friendly deal comes after Frost was the target of some tough love from head coach John Tortorella. Earlier last season, Tortorella described Frost's play to be «up and down like a toilet seat», but he eventually earned the trust of his coach as the season progressed.
Despite being on a bridge contract for now, Frost had made a significant enough impression to be thought of in future plans for Philly, after their rebuild.
