After signing a massive extension this offseason to stay with Buffalo for the foreseeable future, Dahlin is proving his worth to the Sabres in more ways than one.
The cross-state rivalry between the Buffalo Sabres and New York Rangers kicked off games for the two teams tonight, and looking to make an impression, Dahlin was playing with physicality. With the Sabres down 2-0 early in the game, Dahlin looked to spark his team by executing a perfect hip check against Rangers forward Filip Chytil.
Dahlin's new contract extension with the Sabres will keep him in Buffalo for the next eight seasons for an average salary of $11M, one of the highest paid players in the league. If Dahlin can add some dominating physical play in addition to his elite two way skills, he will be proving to be one of the most elite defenders in the league through his contract.
